SECURITY COUNCIL CRISIS COMMITTEE

The UN Security Council has the responsibility to maintain international peace and security, as well as to react to international crisis situations.

This is one of the reasons one of the BIMUN committees is the Security Council Crisis Committee.

The Crisis Committee will discuss the given topic according to the Rules of Procedure of the UN Security Council. At one point during the session, an international crisis will be presented, the delegates will be asked to react quickly and develop a spontaneous discussion on the crisis so the crisis could be solved. In order to take part in the BIMUN Security Council Crisis Committee, delegates must have a broad knowlegde on the topic as well as the UN Security Council Rules of Procedure and its jurisdiction according to the UN Charter and the ability to look for adequate solutions to crisis situations.
