WELCOME TO BIMUN 2017

The BIMUN 2017 Project is organized by the United Nations Association of Serbia
and will have two conference:

* one for University students (15 - 19 March 2017) and

* one for High school students (23 – 26 March 2017).

University Committees

 
   

                   Belgrade International Model United Nations – BIMUN 2017 (15 – 19 March 2017) is the fourteenth annual international youth conference simulating the work of UN bodies on the following topics:

 * SECURITY COUNCIL:
Non-state actors as a danger to international peace and security

 * CRISIS COMMITTEE - SECURITY COUNCIL:
Situation on the Arabian peninsula

 * ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL (ECOSOC):
The role of multinational corporations in sustainable development

 * HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL:
Xenophobia as a threat to human rights

 * UN ENVIRONMENT ASSEMBLY (UNEA):
Renewable energy sources as a basis of sustainable development

 * UNESCO - Executive Board:
Fostering global citizenship as an alternative to extremism

Our 14th conference will be focused on the theme: "Global Governance for the 21st Century’’

  Participants of the conference will be students from all over the world.
BIMUN 2017 will be an opportunity for diplomatic debates, with respect to multiculturalism and democratic values, but also for connecting young leaders. The conference will have a rich social life and special events (BIMUN Diplomats' Ball, National evening and BIMUN party). 

So far 2798 participants from 64 countries have participated in thirteen BIMUN conferences.

BIMUN JUNIOR 2017 (23 - 26 March 2017) –

High School Committees

BIMUN JUNIOR 2017 conference (for high school students) will be held from 23 to 26 March 2017.

The conference will have three high school committees that will discuss the following topics:

* SECURITY COUNCIL: The Situation in Nigeria - the threat of Boko Haram

* GENERAL ASSEMBLY: Plan for preventing violent extremism

* HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL: The Migrant crisis
